An automated way of testing web pages to see if they meet a particular set of standards. HTML means "Hypertext Markup Language" (you can click on "View" and then "View Source" in Internet Explorer to see the HTML that creates this page). HTML validation is of only limited help in trying to improve the usability or the sales conversion rate on your website.
One task that HTML validation does quite well is that of checking your website to make sure that you are using all of the standards for accessibility as defined by the government.
