User-centric design refers to a website design that is centered around the needs of its users.
Before you even touch your keyboard to work on your website, you should first try to know what your customers want to see. What tasks do they want to perform, what information do they want to see, what priorities do they have - and then build the site in strict accordance with what you have found.
The downside to purely user-centric design is that it may not lead to selling anything - a business website should also demonstrate real sales-readiness.
